Our motto is simple, we are willing and able to implement which ever technique or method that produces results. We use many common techniques and methods to catch on our fishing charters, but also have a few tricks up our sleeves. Our drive and work ethic is unmatched!
Open Water Fishing
Spring through fall, Capt. Mike runs the Fenntastic 5, and you get the full St. Lawrence River experience. Walleye is the specialty, but we also chase northern pike, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, and the elusive muskellunge (musky) across the open water of the mighty St. Lawrence.
What sets our trips apart: Capt. Mike scouts the fish first, then launches from whichever port puts you closest to them — Ogdensburg, Morristown, Waddington, Lisbon, Massena, Clayton, or Alexandria Bay (Alex Bay). In the spring, that means chasing perch out of Alexandria Bay and in the fall Massena. The fishing clock doesn't start until lines are wet.
Capt. Mike was raised on the St. Lawrence and later served in the U.S. Coast Guard across the St. Lawrence River, Lake Ontario, Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, and Lake Huron — giving him firsthand navigational knowledge of these waters and the locations that hold fish during the four seasons.
Ice Fishing
Capt. Mike has over 35 years of experience on the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway System and it shines through with his first hand knowledge of structure and locations that hold fish. Capt. Mike is well known for his trophy walleye ice fishing trips with a steady flow of keepers. He uses the latest in technology to include Garmin products such as Livescope 34 Plus, Aqua view cameras along with other technology. He gets you to the fishing grounds with the only heated cabbed Agro on our stretch of the SLR. He also operates a 2026 Polaris 1500 Northstar Ultimate for transportation.
Stay & Fish
Settle into our secluded private lodge in Waddington and fish back-to-back days without the early-morning drive — just first light, hot coffee, and the boat waiting at the dock. Sunset Cruises
Glide through the 1000 Islands to Dark Island, home of Singer Castle — a 28-room Gilded Age fortress built by the president of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, complete with a five-story tower, hidden passageways, and secret panels for spying on dinner guests. It's the only Thousand Islands castle ever fully finished, reachable only by water, and it sits right in our stretch of the river. Capt. Mike provides a scenic sunset cruise around the castle and surrounding islands. Pour a glass of wine, mix a cocktail, crack a cold beer, and lay out a charcuterie spread while the sun goes down over the Castle.

Captain Mike! What an outstanding time I had with my brother and 2 nephews! Can’t say enough great things. From the service going off the launch to untangling lines and even getting us hooked off bottom a few times. Mike was super friendly and eager to get us fish as soon as we were on the water! We had a wonderful morning on the mighty Saint Lawrence River and were even able to get 4 nice Walleyes! He was phenomenal from start to finish of the trip! Even cleaning all the fish for us! It was truly a wonderful experience. If you’re ever in upstate New York and looking to fish, Mike is most definitely the one to use!

My son and I had an amazing time fishing with Captain Mike on the SLR. He is an extremely courteous and knowledgeable waterman. We were catching fish within minutes from leaving the dock, and my son finished out the day catching a smallie of a lifetime!! If we are in the area again, we will be booking another trip!!
Capt Mike was really nice, he definitely knows his stuff, I booked this trip to catch Walleyes and we caught two really nice ones. Plus four bass, even had two bass hit at the same time, all and all it was perfect May evening. I will definitely book future trips with Capt Mike!!
My father and I had a great trip with Captin Mike! We stayed at Lisbon beach campground and heard from the fishermen there that the walleye bite was rough for the last few weeks. We met up with Captin Mike the next morning and he found them! We had a great few days walleye fishing and we also got some huge bass! It is overly clear that Captin Mike knows the river like the back of his hand, and his boat has all the latest technology to get you on the fish and make the trip fentastic 🎣! I would definitly recomend Fentastic Outdoor Adventures to anyone looking to catch some St. Lawrance walleye!
